June is National CPR and AED Awareness Month

In a cardiac emergency, every second counts. That’s why June CPR Awareness Week is far more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a national call to action. Every June, communities around the U.S. promote how to save lives by raising awareness of the importance of lifesaving skills during National CPR and AED Awareness Week.

Why Is CPR and AED Training So Important?

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time. Without treatment, the prognosis is very poor, with a rapid decline in survival. The ability to perform bleeding control, CPR, and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) saves lives.

CPR and AED Awareness 2025 will highlight the significance of acquiring these life-saving skills not only by healthcare personnel but also by the general public, including educators, students, parents, employers, and co-workers.

What is CPR and AED Awareness Week? It’s a national observance intended to make sure people know how to react in a cardiac emergency. This week-long campaign raises awareness through events, community workshops, social media campaigns, and school programs. It takes place June 1-7 every year. During the week, the American Red Cross encourages the public to enroll in CPR and AED training. So that you can help a life when someone goes into cardiac arrest.

June is more than the start of summer—it’s the start of saving lives. This CPR and AED Awareness Month take a lifesaving course so you can be prepared in an emergency.
